Life of a Software Engineer -13-Dec-2021(The Goals)

Hello Readers,

I am Japneet (The Data Singh). I had a strong urge from the past couple of weeks to vent out all - ideas, experiences(good or bad), schedules, goals, thoughts, etc that are going in my head throughout the day.

At first, I thought of speaking all this in front of a camera but then I realized that this is supposed to be something I can do every day to log my days, and using a camera required a lot of time (Owning a YT Channel- The Data Singh) taught me this), so I decided to write all of this and I will be using this section for my logging.

For the last few months, I have been such a lazy lad that anything that I decide to do eventually gets delayed or does not happen.

  • I lost my consistency in putting videos on YT
  • I lost my consistency in putting content on Linkedin
  • I lost my consistency in day to day health activities
  • I started sleeping late which I usually didn’t do from childhood
  • I had no discipline overeating

I can fill this list endlessly, that is the level at which I am disappointed with myself.

BUT

Starting today, I have promised myself to practise self-discipline and get back on track, this is very important for a person to grow in life.

The morning was usual, woke up late and started the work from bed today with a cup of tea which I managed to make for myself.

Working in a startup has its own perks and cons, will be telling them one by one in my upcoming logs.

Towards lunch I managed to finish my slack threads and email cleaning and started to work after lunch.

I don’t know if you are like me, but I am very very easily distracted with even an SMS notification to which no one gives a damn in today’s world.

I somehow managed to keep myself focused on the tasks in hand as the deadline for that is very close now.

In a startup everything is urgent as well as important

The evening I took a hard call to be who I always wanted to be and not a lazy couch potato.

After taking a leave from work at 8:00 I decided to hit the gym and Today I have made a goal to lose 6 kg weight by May 2022.

At first, I didn’t mention the date on this Goal but then I realised

Worst way of goal creation is to keep them open ended

My focus for the new year will be

  • Eat healthily
  • Increase Physical Activity
  • Self Descipline

I know this will not interest many of the readers but if even a single person can relate, I will be more than happy.
